Meal prepping can make your life much easier. It allows you to plan your meals for the week, and manage healthy eating habits. While this is all great, let’s be honest…eating the same things every day can get old quickly. Mr. Clean Can has some helpful tips to help you meal prep and avoid getting bored with your food!
Change Your Mindset
While sometimes it’s easier said than done, Mr. Clean Can suggests trying to look at the positives of meal prepping. Rather than looking at it from the viewpoint of having to eat the same thing every single day, we suggest thinking of it more as a way to form healthy habits. If you go into each day knowing you prepped this food for yourself to help either save time, lose weight, or whatever reason it may be, you’ll begin to feel more grateful for your pre-made breakfast, lunch and/or dinner.
Often times, deciding what you’re going to eat can take a lot of time and energy. When you have something ready for you to eat, that gives you more time and energy to focus on other important things!
Spice It Up
If you are planning your week of meals to be centered around chicken, we suggest using different spices and/or marinades so you can have different flavors to look forward to throughout the week. For example, you could have Cajun seasoned chicken Monday, lemon pepper chicken Tuesday, Teriyaki chicken Wednesday, and so on.
If varying the flavor for your protein seems like too much work, another way to change it up would be to swap out your sides. If one day you plan on having a salad with your chicken, maybe the next you could plan to have rice and veggies. There are plenty of ways to change up your recipes so you don’t find yourself getting bored easily.
Try Something New
Do you feel like you’re stuck in a rut? Maybe you’re tired of eating the same salmon with veggies every week. Mr. Clean Can suggests trying out a new recipe! The easiest place to find a wide variety of recipes is Pinterest. They have plenty of options that will appeal to anyone! Trying out a new recipe will have you excited for the week. Not only this, but maybe you’ll also find some new favorite recipes to add to your collection!
Brush Up on Your Culinary Skills
Another reason you could be bored with your weekly meal prep is if you haven’t quite gotten the hang of cooking. We’ve all been there! Maybe you’re overcooking your chicken and each day you’re eating dry chicken, or you could be under seasoning your vegetables.
Whatever it is, it’s easy to learn some new tips and tricks that will help you improve your culinary skills. If you’re cooking a protein, we suggest looking up the best way to prepare it so you know what temperature it should be cooked to, what temperature to cook it at, and so on.
