With spring right around the corner, everyone is beginning to look for fun things to do outside in this great weather before it gets too hot! Lucky for you, Mr. Clean Can has put together a list of the best bike trails near Windermere that all of you have to visit!

West Orange Trail

If you’re looking for a trail where you can travel through multiple towns while looking at beautiful scenery, this is the trail for you! West Orange Trail is 22 miles long and runs through multiple cities and towns in Central Florida such as Winter Garden, Oakland, and Apopka! What we like most about this trail here at Clean Cans is the variety of scenery you can bike through. You have the option to stop for a break and shop while biking down the middle of Plant Street and then continue for several miles and have a look at the beautiful orange groves and farmland that Central Florida has to offer.

If you head out to this trail and don’t have a bike, Killarney Station, which is located in the Winter Garden portion of the West Orange Trail, offers bike rentals! West Orange Trail is open from sunrise to sunset.

Shingle Creek Regional Trail

Currently running from Hunters Creek, north to Orlando, and then south into Kissimmee, the Shingle Creek Regional Trail is one we guarantee all cyclists don’t want to miss! With various habitats to bike past, such as swampland, orange groves, and wild grasslands, nature lovers will love pedaling down this trail. While the trail is currently at only a little over 12 miles, upon completion, it should end up spanning about 32 miles! The Shingle Creek Regional Trail was selected to receive national recognition in the “America’s Great Outdoors Fifty State Report”, which was part of President Obama’s America’s Great Outdoors initiative he started in 2011.

Lake Druid Park

For all the cyclists out there struggling to find a place to mountain bike in Florida, look no further than Lake Druid Park! With 19 acres of land, this park has a lot to offer, like the mountain bike area that has a pump track, junior pump track, and a single-track trail! Aside from the mountain bike area, the Lake Druid Park also offers opportunities for bird watching and checking out the beautiful surrounding area!

If you’re looking for a bit more of a challenge than your traditional bike trail, you have to head over to Lake Druid Park to try out their mountain bike area! This park is open on Monday-Friday from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m.
