One of the best things about a trip to Disney World is all of the delicious food you get to eat! Whether it’s a snack in the parks, or a sit down dinner, you can rest assured knowing you’re eating delicious, high quality food. While the parks have some great restaurants to visit, Mr. Clean Can loves paying a visit to the awesome restaurants in some of the Disney resorts! With just over 25 Walt Disney World Resort hotels, there are many restaurants to choose from. But which ones are the best? Mr. Clean Can has some recommendations for you!
Ale & Compass
If you’re looking for high quality, delicious food, our number one recommendation would be the Ale & Compass restaurant that’s located in the Yacht Club Resort. Everything on the menu is amazing, but Mr. Clean Can has his favorites, and is ready to share them with you!
The Parker House Rolls and Spreads are a must! These warm, soft, delicious rolls are served with bacon jam, pub cheese, and citrus butter. Just beware, they are very addicting, so if you plan to order an entrée, be careful not to fill up on these (although it is very tempting). Another recommendation we have (although it’s listed under enhancements) are the Truffle Fries with Roasted Shallot Mayonnaise. These are unbelievably delicious, and packed with so much flavor, we guarantee you’ll come back, even if it’s just for these fries!
Main Plate Recommendations
While all of the main plate options are amazing, there are two that we believe stand above the rest. If you love seafood, you absolutely must order the New England Seafood Pot Pie. This dish has shrimp, scallops, jumbo lump crab, and Sustainable Catch of the Day with baby carrots, pearl onions, peas, potatoes, and crustacean cream with a flaky crust. The flavor in this dish is incredible, and they are not stingy with the seafood either!
Don’t care for seafood? No problem! They have an amazing ‘Brick’ Lemon-Herb Half Chicken dish that we’re sure you will love. This chicken comes with duck fat-roasted fingerling potatoes, broccolini, sautéed wild mushroom, and pan jus.
An all-you-care-to-enjoy dinner while sitting in a beautiful, Polynesian themed restaurant? Sign us up! The ‘Ohana restaurant, located in the Polynesian Village Resort, needs to be on your list of must visit Disney restaurants, if it isn’t already. The food is incredible, we love the theming of the restaurant, and if you happen to be there when the fireworks go off at Magic Kingdom, you may even get to see them from your table!
What all is included?
To start your dinner off, you’ll receive a mixed greens salad with citrus vinaigrette and ‘Ohana Coconut-Papaya Scones and Cheddar Bacon Biscuits with honey butter. You’ll also get to enjoy Honey-Coriander Chicken Wings and Pork Dumplings tossed in Garlic-Chili Sauce. While all of this is delicious, you need to make sure you save room for the dinner skillet, and our favorite part, dessert! The dinner skillet consists of Woodfire-grilled Teriyaki Beef, Island Shrimp Casserole, Roasted Eight-way Chicken with Polynesian-inspired Chimichurri Sauce, Kielbasa Sausage, ‘Ohana Noodles, and Roasted Broccolini.
And the grand finale? The incredible, delicious, ‘Ohana Bread Pudding that is served a la mode with a homemade caramel sauce! If you aren’t looking for a reservation right now, what are you doing?! We guarantee you will love everything from the food to the atmosphere!
Whispering Canyon Cafe
Our last recommendation is Whispering Canyon Cafe, which is located at Disney’s Wilderness Lodge. Not only is the food delicious, but you’re sure to have a great time while you eat. Similar to ‘Ohana, this is also an all-you-care-to-enjoy dinner, however the food selection is quite different!
We highly recommend trying the ‘Burnt Ends’ Nachos for your starter. These come topped with beef brisket, barbecued pulled pork, cheese sauce, and fresh salsa. These nachos are amazing, and would even be great to have as your meal if you aren’t interested in the all-you-care-to-enjoy skillets!
There are four different all-you-care-to-enjoy signature skillet options to choose from. Our favorite skillet that we recommend trying is The Traditional. This skillet comes with Oak-smoked Mustard-Barbecued Beef Brisket, Maple-Chipotle Pork Ribs, Slow-smoked Pulled Pork, Citrus-Herb Chicken, Western-style Sausage, Smashed Potatoes, Buttered Corn, and Sautéed Green Beans. All of the food here is tasty, and what makes it even better is the atmosphere. It’s loud and guaranteed to be a fun time, with servers who like to joke around, and even a hobby horse race for the kids!
