It’s that time of year again – when orange pumpkins take center stage and holiday spices show up in all your drinks. Here’s a list of the best free things to do for Halloween in Central Florida: Celebration Oktoberfest

CelebrationOktoberfest – Watch the streets of Celebration, Florida’s town center come to life with this fall festival, featuring old-world German traditions. Enjoy the live show with yodeling and fun sing-alongs for the whole crowd. Best of all, there’s something for everyone to enjoy at this event. Winter Garden – This Trunk or Treat event is perfect for kids, offering lots of fun activities and tons of free candy! Let your child enjoy free face painting and a special appearance by the Jiggleman. It will be hosted by the Down Syndrome Association on October 27th, 2017 from 5:30 – 7:30.

Davenport – Here’s another fun and exciting kid-friendly Trunk or Treat event. Enjoy a costume contest, free hot dogs, and loads of Halloween candy. Hosted by Jarrett-Gorden Ford, the fun happens on October 28th from 6:00 to 8:00.

Windermere – Don your costumes and head over to Windermere for a Halloween Costume Parade and Hayride. It’s an exciting all-day event packed with fun activities hosted by the city. Head over on October 28th to enjoy the festivities!

Other Fun Things to do for Halloween

These Halloween events aren’t free, but who says you have to spend an arm and a leg to have some scares? Take a look at what else is going on in central Florida:

Ocoee – Get ready for a fun and frightful event with something for everyone. Adults can enjoy a walk through the City of Ocoee Haunted House for a $5.00 admission while the kids play in the bounce house, take a hayride, win prizes, and snack on candy. The city hosts this event several weekends in October and doors open at 7:30 PM.

KissimmeeThe Haunt at Old Town – This is a great event for adults who are looking for a scare and aren’t afraid of things that go bump in the night. Enjoy a walk through haunted mazes, take a creepy cruise in a coffin on The Last Ride burial simulator, or take the trip through the scary 2-story Mortem Manor if you dare. Tickets are available for events starting late September and all through October.

Mickey's Not So Scary Halloween Party Orlando – If you want to give your kids a Halloween to remember, take them to Disney World’s Mickey’s Not-So-Scary Halloween Party! They’ll be sure to love all the recognizable characters walking around and you’ll get some great pictures too.

 

Fun Halloween Recipe to Make at Home

Staying in can be just as fun, especially when it comes to Halloween! Throw a Halloween-themed gathering and enjoy the festivities in the comfort of your own home.

Here’s a creepy drink concoction that’s sure to make the kids squeal with delight (and another version to keep the adults happy too)!

1.5 oz of white grape juice*

Top it off with 0.5 oz of creamer

Lastly, put a few drops of grenadine on top, which should drag some of the “curdled” cream to the bottom, creating a creepy brain effect.

*For an adult version, substitute peach schnapps for the white grape juice and Bailey’s Irish Cream for the creamer.
