To help you host a stellar barbecue, Mr. Clean Can and The Clean Cans Kid have put together a few summer grilling recipes everyone can enjoy!

Spicy Cajun Chicken Breast Dry Rub

A good dry rub is great for grilling chicken because it helps keep those delicious juices inside and packs the outside with flavor. Honestly, you can make a dry rub from just about any blend of spices, but here’s a list of ingredients to get you started with a tasty Cajun dry rub.

Ingredients for 3 large or 6 small chicken breasts:

  • 1 teaspoon salt
  • ½ teaspoon cayenne pepper
  • 1 tablespoon garlic powder
  • ½ teaspoon crushed red pepper (more or less to taste)
  • 1 teaspoon dried oregano
  • ½ teaspoon dried thyme
  • 1 teaspoon paprika
  • 1 teaspoon chili powder
  • ½ teaspoon ground cumin
  • ½ teaspoon ground white pepper
  • 1 teaspoon onion powder

Preheat grill to medium-high heat.

Then, mix all spices together in a large bowl.

Pound each piece of chicken breast until it is uniformly about 1 inch thick.

Finally, rub mixture on both sides of each piece of chicken.

When it comes time to cook, place each piece of chicken on the grill for about 4-6 minutes (each side). If the chicken is still not cooked all the way through, continue cooking on a lower heat to help prevent drying out.

Delicious Tri-tip Marinade

Grilled tri-tip is versatile and with this tasty marinade, it can easily become the main attraction to your outdoor barbeque. For a successful cookout, make sure you start off with a high-quality piece of meat and let the marinade do the rest.

  • ½ cup of olive oil
  • 1 teaspoon onion powder
  • 2 tablespoon brown sugar
  • ¼ cup of worcestershire
  • 1 ¾ tablespoon garlic powder
  • 3 tablespoon of dried parsley
  • 1 ½ tablespoon of dried basil
  • 1 tablespoon ground white pepper
  • ½ fresh lemon

Place all your ingredients into a ziplock bag and shake well.

Once the sugar has dissolved, add meat to the bag.

Then, let it marinate overnight before grilling.

Vegetarian Summer Grilling Recipes: Blackened Tofu Burger

Don’t forget about your vegetarian loved ones when planning your summer grilling recipes. It may seem hard to come up with a tasty vegetarian meal but tofu is very forgiving. To help you, here’s a recipe for a blackened tofu burger.

  • Extra firm tofu, sliced approximately 1 inch thick
  • ⅛ teaspoon each of white pepper, onion powder, garlic powder
  • ¼ cup of soy sauce
  • ½ teaspoon paprika
  • ¼ teaspoon each of cayenne pepper, ground cumin, dried thyme

Marinate tofu pieces in soy sauce for approximately 30 minutes. For ultimate flavor, make sure to flip each piece halfway through.

Then, mix together your spices in a bowl.

Place each piece of tofu into the spice mix. Be generous! This step is where all the flavor comes from.

Finally, grill each piece of tofu on medium heat for 4-5 minutes per side.
